Overview
Alpine Lines is an indie game by Tiny Haltere, made by a solo developer. This policy explains what happens to information when you play it on iPhone, iPad or Android.
The short version: Alpine Lines has no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and no servers of its own. Your progress stays on your device. If you sign in to Game Center (iOS) or Google Play Games (Android), your scores are sent to Apple or Google to run the leaderboards.
On your device
The game stores your progress, saved run, high scores and settings on your device. This data stays there unless you choose to share it, and it is removed when you delete the app.
Haptic feedback and the optional gyroscope effect, which you can turn off in Settings, work entirely on your device. Motion data is not stored or sent anywhere.
Leaderboards
When the game starts, it checks whether you are signed in to Game Center on iOS or Google Play Games on Android, and it may ask you to sign in the first time. If you sign in:
- What is sent: your scores, for the all-time and Daily Challenge leaderboards, linked to your Game Center or Google Play Games player account.
- Where it is stored: on Apple’s or Google’s servers, which manage the leaderboards and your account. I do not receive this data or store it on servers of my own.
If you do not sign in, the leaderboards are unavailable and no scores are sent.
Daily Challenge time check
Before a Daily Challenge score is submitted to a leaderboard, the game makes a single request to a Google web address (www.google.com/generate_204) to read the current date, so that scores count for the right day. The request contains no game or personal data. Like any web request, it shows Google your IP address and basic technical details, such as the name of the software making the request. It only happens when you are signed in and submitting a daily score.
Sharing
After a run you can share an image of your resort with your score. The image is created on your device and passed to your system’s share sheet, and it goes only where you choose to send it.
Reviews and store links
The game may show Apple’s or Google’s built-in review prompt, and the rate button opens the game’s App Store or Google Play page. Ratings and reviews are handled by Apple and Google.
Data collected by Apple and Google
Downloading and using the game through the App Store or Google Play is subject to their own data practices. Apple and Google may collect information such as:
- App install and uninstall events
- Crash reports and performance diagnostics
- Device type and operating system version
- General usage statistics
This data is collected and managed by Apple and Google under Apple’s Privacy Policy and Google’s Privacy Policy. I have no control over it and do not have access to any personally identifiable information through these reports.
Deleting your data
- On your device: delete the app to remove your progress, scores and settings.
- Google Play Games: manage or delete your data from your Play Games profile or the Google Play Games settings on your device.
- Game Center: manage your Game Center account in your device’s Settings, or request deletion of your Apple data at privacy.apple.com.

Alpine Lines does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be shown by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
